Casting & Mold-making
Patterns can be made from your original piece or a scale model by laser scanning the piece and then scaling the computer model as necessary to account for casting shrinkage or general enlargement or shrinkage of the original or scale model. Computer-generated models can also be used to produce patterns or even the molds directly, in some cases. Plaster blocks have been machined to make molds for slip casting directly from computer models, saving steps and time.
